The Real Issue Podcast

Today is the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001. Does God exist with all the evil we see coming from natural phenomena, physical and terminal illness, and evil actions toward our fellow man? Is there an answer to these questions that is superior to all other world views. Rob gives the answer to these questions in this program today. This is our first podcast after a week of evaluation and natural phenomena (an earthquake and a tropical storm). In this episode, Rob shares an email experience with an individual critiquing his video, "A Question for Atheists". This person asserts that he does not know anything. Is this a true assertion that is livable? Rob shows how it is not a valid excuse. In the second part, Rob digs back into his material in counter-cult apologetics, and shares with listeners on how to recognize a cult using four mathematical operations (+, -, X, /). This week Rob answers a couple questions he has received from a viewer of a ministry video, "A Question to Atheists" and a listener's email on 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10. In the last part of the podcast "What is So Special About Christianity and What Makes Christ So Unique? Rob gives some Scriptural and historical answers to these two questions challenging Judaism and Islam in those answers. We have a loaded program this afternoon, opening with Five Things Science Cannot Answer. The middle segment answers a question from a listener and friend on "can a Christian do good?" The final part is about responding to the statement, "Is the Gospel Enough?" That gospel is found in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, "Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried and He rose on the third day according to the Scriptures." Using this passage and apologetics encounters, Rob shows that in some contexts a polemical (apologetic) answer will be needed. Some of our evangelism encounters it is enough, but what about those who object to Jesus having existed? What about the Muslim who says Jesus never died? Atheism smuggles in moral categories in order to try and defend that there cannot be a God. A friend of the ministry contributes a response off of one of Rob's videos that comes from a lot from the atheist camps. This show is in follow up to the aftermath of Harold Camping's false prophecy for the Rapture of the church happening on May 21 2011. How many people were impacted by this false prophet's claim? The atheist community is saying "See I told you so." The followers of Camping are disillusioned, while those who approach the Bible correctly with a grammatical historical approach need to find ways to respond and minister to people.
