Real Issue Podcast Episode #46: The Three Faces of Evil and A Christian Response
September 11, 2011 12:27 PM PDT
Today is the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001. Does God exist with all the evil we see coming from natural phenomena, physical and terminal illness, and evil actions toward our fellow man? Is there an answer to these questions that is superior to all other world views. Rob gives the answer to these questions in this program today. Our prayer is that you will interact with what you hear, and that it will encourage you to look further at the claims of the Christian faith. We also hope that you will engage with what you hear in this show. If you would like to ask a question, send your question to stand4truthapologetics@gmail.com or call 540.424.2305 Real Issue Podcast Episode #45: Is Morality Absolute or Relative
August 29, 2011 08:42 AM PDT
This is our first podcast after a week of evaluation and natural phenomena (an earthquake and a tropical storm). The topic this week is one that is ever so prevalent in our culture, a cultural "hot-button". When absolute objective morality is removed from a culture, morality takes on a different shape. Is morality absolute or is it relative is the question before us in this week's episode of the Real Issue podcast. Rob and the team invites you to engage the information you hear on this podcast and weigh it out. If it prompts a question you would like to ask, we welcome that question to stand4truthapologetics@gmail.com or by calling 540.424.2305. Real Issue Podcast Episode #44: Why Defend the Faith?
August 15, 2011 09:15 AM PDT
We are looking at how we do our audio presentations, and to have a bit more focus in topics for the Real Issue, we are going back to understanding what it means to defend the faith. What does it mean to defend the faith? What does apologetics mean? Is it biblical? Is there a practical need for apologetics and defending the faith in a post-Christian culture? Listen in on this issue of The Real Issue podcast and learn the answer to these questions. If you have a question you would like to have answered, please send us an email and we will take the question for a future show. Real Issue Podcast Episode #41: Five Things Science Cannot Answer / Listener Email / Unpacking the Gospel Apologetically
July 24, 2011 02:39 PM PDT
We have a loaded program this afternoon, opening with Five Things Science Cannot Answer. The middle segment answers a question from a listener and friend on "can a Christian do good?" The final part is about responding to the statement, "Is the Gospel Enough?" That gospel is found in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, "Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures, He was buried and He rose on the third day according to the Scriptures." Using this passage and apologetics encounters, Rob shows that in some contexts a polemical (apologetic) answer will be needed. Some of our evangelism encounters it is enough, but what about those who object to Jesus having existed? What about the Muslim who says Jesus never died? Or what about those who deny that Jesus rose from the dead? Listen in and engage what you hear. If you would like to ask a question, you can send us an email at stand4truthapologetics@gmail.com. This show is in follow up to the aftermath of Harold Camping's false prophecy for the Rapture of the church happening on May 21 2011. How many people were impacted by this false prophet's claim? The atheist community is saying "See I told you so." The followers of Camping are disillusioned, while those who approach the Bible correctly with a grammatical historical approach need to find ways to respond and minister to people.
